Questions
- How is it worked out?
- A Tamil month starts when the sun enters a new sign of the zodiac (Thirukanitha method, Lahiri ayanamsa). If that happens before sunset, the month starts that day; otherwise the next day. The year name follows the 60-year cycle from Chithirai 1.
- Why might my calendar show a different date?
- Calendars that follow the older Vakya method can differ by one day around the day a month changes. Every other day matches.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files and text never leave your device. It works without an account.
