Who we are
Designee (www.designee.in) is a Tamil design application for print shops, designers, small businesses and creators. It is run by Valavan Ventures Private Limited, SF No 157/3, Mandabam Street, Salaipettai, Pernambut Taluk, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu 635810, India (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name and email, never your password.
- Your phone number, only if you add it.
- The date and time you accepted this policy.
- Sign-in records: when you signed in, your browser type and IP address, to keep accounts secure.
What you make and upload
- Your designs, folders and saved versions.
- Photos, logos and signatures you upload. They are private to you, and to your Shop team when you put them in the shared team folder.
- Your brand kit: logos, colours, business name, phone and address.
- Files we make for you: Print PDFs, print sheets and pictures from the AI tools. These are deleted automatically after 7 days.
- Saved templates and PSDs, your collections, and your progress in tutorials.
Print-shop jobs
- Customer names and phone numbers you enter for a job.
- Photos your customers upload through a photo link you send them.
- Proofs you share, and comments with the name your customer types.
Payments
- Your plan, payment dates, amounts, the payment reference, coupons used and receipts. If you pay by UPI transfer, the UTR number you give us.
- We never receive or store your card, UPI PIN or bank login. Razorpay handles those.
Use and safety
- A log of PSD downloads (which design, when, your IP address and a device identifier), for daily limits and to stop bulk copying.
- How many AI-tool uses you had today, for daily limits.
- Short-lived counters per account or IP address to block abuse.
- A record of sensitive actions (plan changes, refunds, deletions), for security.
- Error reports when something breaks, with email addresses and phone numbers removed.
Forms and browser tools
- If you fill in a contact or enquiry form, we keep what you typed to answer you.
- The font converter and the browser tools run on your device. What you paste or open there is not sent to us unless you save it to your account.
Why we use it
- To run your account, save your work and give you your plan’s features.
- To take payments, give receipts and handle refunds.
- To enforce daily limits and prevent misuse and copying of the PSD library.
- To send emails you need: sign-in codes, welcome, payment received, renewal problems, plan ending and refunds. We don’t send marketing emails without asking you first.
- To answer support requests, and to find and fix errors.
- To recognise customers who bought a lifetime plan from us before.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not show third-party advertising.
Cookies and analytics
- Always on, because the site needs them: the sign-in cookie, your cookie choice, a device identifier for download limits, and your light or dark theme.
- Only if you press “Accept”: Google Analytics (which pages are visited) and Microsoft Clarity (how pages are clicked and scrolled; typing is hidden). If you press “Reject”, neither is loaded. You can change your choice with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
- Ad measurement (only if you accept it): the Meta Pixel tell us which of our ads brought visitors who signed up or bought a plan. If you accepted it when you bought, we also send Meta the purchase from our server (plan, amount, and your email address in scrambled, hashed form) so it is counted once. When you arrive from one of our ad links, we keep its tags for 30 days in a cookie on your device to credit that ad. You can turn ad measurement off with “Cookie settings”.
- Tutorial videos from YouTube load only when you press play.
Where your data is stored, and who processes it
- Supabase: the account and app database, in Mumbai, India.
- Vercel: the website and its servers, in Mumbai, India.
- Cloudflare: file storage (Asia-Pacific), the security check on forms, and DNS.
- Google Cloud: making Print PDFs and running the AI tools on your pictures, in Mumbai, India. This is our own software; your pictures are not sent to an outside AI company.
- Razorpay: payments, in India.
- Resend: sending our emails (Tokyo, Japan).
- Sentry: error reports, with email and phone removed (United States).
- Zoho Mail: our mailbox (India).
- Bunny.net: streaming paid tutorial videos.
- Google and Microsoft: analytics, only with your consent.
- Meta: measuring our ads (Meta Pixel), only with your consent.
How long we keep it
- Account data, designs and uploads: while your account is open.
- Print PDFs, print sheets and AI-tool results: 7 days. Temporary files: 1 day.
- Customer photo links: removed 30 days after they end; the photos stay with the job until you delete them.
- Payments, receipts and UPI records: as long as tax law requires, even after your account is deleted, no longer linked to you.
- Security records and error reports: only as long as needed to keep the service safe.
- Form messages: until we have answered you and the matter is closed.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you;
- correct it (most of it is in Account → Settings);
- delete it with Account → Settings → Delete my account. The account is locked at once and deleted after 7 days; signing in during those days lets you cancel. Payment records stay, as above;
- withdraw your consent, which means closing your account;
- nominate someone to use these rights if you die or can no longer act;
- complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Your files are private and open only through links that expire within minutes. Payment details never touch our servers. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
Contact and grievance officer
Grievance officer: Valavan, hello@designee.in. We answer as soon as we can, and within 30 days. More ways to reach us are on the contact page.
Children
Designee is for people aged 18 and over, or younger people with a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email signed-in users and show the new date at the top.
