Change DPI

Only the DPI number inside the file changes. The pixels, and so the quality, stay exactly the same.

How to use it

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Check its size, DPI and colour mode, and how big it prints.
  3. Pick 300 DPI (or type another number) and download. The file name ends in -300dpi.

Questions

Does changing the DPI make my photo sharper?
No. DPI is only a note inside the file that says how big to print it. Changing it keeps every pixel as it was, so quality stays the same. It only changes the print size software shows.
Why does the print shop ask for 300 DPI?
Many print shops and government forms check the DPI number before they accept a file. Setting it to 300 answers that check. Whether the print is sharp depends on the pixels: use the print size calculator to see if you have enough.
What is CMYK colour mode?
CMYK files are made for printing presses. Some phones and websites show them with odd colours; for printing they are fine.
Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files and text never leave your device. It works without an account.
