Unicode to Dinak converter
Convert Unicode Tamil (from WhatsApp, Google or Word) into Dinak so it types correctly in Photoshop and other design software. Free, instant, and it works without an account.
Type in Tanglish (vaNakkam → வணக்கம்)
The Dinak text looks like Latin letters here. Paste it into Photoshop, Word or CorelDRAW and choose a Dinak font (for example DINAK-00 … DINAK-99 (Dinathanthi)) to see Tamil. Photoshop CC and newer apps need "Copy for Photoshop CC"; text copied any other way shows boxes there.

Questions
- Why does my Tamil text break in Photoshop?
- Older versions of Photoshop and many DTP fonts cannot shape Unicode Tamil, so letters like கொ or ஸ்ரீ come out in the wrong order. Convert the text to Dinak and use a Dinak font instead.
- Is the converter free?
- Yes. Typing and pasting text is free and unlimited, and you do not need an account.
- Is my text sent to a server?
- No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser; your text never leaves your device.
- Some letters stay in Unicode. Why?
- A few letters, mostly rare grantha forms, do not exist in Dinak fonts. The converter lists them so you can replace them.
- Which fonts use Dinak?
- Fonts such as DINAK-00 … DINAK-99 (Dinathanthi), Dinak*. After converting, choose one of them for the text in your design software.
